It was a day of love that left a fragrance,
The smell still wafts through the house,
Of numerous laughs and umpteen stories shared.
The day brewed coffee and cake,
The night was like an icing on the cake.
There was a circle of people around the heater,
And a plate full of food to enliven the heart’s barometer.
The time had come to a standstill,
Even if for a few hours,
Until the clock started again,
Reminding how ephemeral time was.
Byes were said for the day,
Hoping for same jolly time another day.
What is life if not love,
Moments tied together that etch an eternity.
