Mindful Observation: Day 9
Distraction is easier than observation. Who doesn’t know that? Still, when mind is disturbed, watching TV is the easiest way out. Knowing well it’s sheer waste of time comes of no use. Why is it so complex to do what needs to be done? Even while being aware, I see myself falling into the same trap repeatedly. Sitting with uneasy thoughts is as uneasy as the thoughts themselves. Detaching yourself from the thoughts needs gentle reminders every day. That requires sitting in silence, which develops into a habit if you do so every day. But how you do that as sitting with TV is better than dealing with those scattered thoughts. The vicious circle continues…any way out?
